Ingredients for high protein French toast:

  • 3 slices of sourdough bread
  • 1 egg + 1 egg white
  • 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Pinch of gingerbread spices
  • Pinch of salt
  • 75 ml almond milk
  • 150 grams of fresh mixed red fruit
  • 10 ml maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons of low-fat quark
  • Coconut oil or butter

 

How to prepare high-protein French toast:

  1. Mix the egg, egg white, vanilla protein powder, almond milk, cinnamon, salt and gingerbread and speculaas spices well together until smooth.
  2. Dip a slice of bread on both sides in the egg mixture.
  3. Heat some oil in a pan and let it get warm. Then place the slice of bread in the pan and fry it until golden brown in 2 to 3 minutes. Turn the slice over and fry the other side until golden brown in 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Repeat this process with the remaining slices of bread.
  5. Sprinkle the French toast with extra cinnamon and serve with fresh mixed red fruit, low-fat quark and maple syrup.
